THE POWER TO MOULD THE WORLD IS IN OUR HANDS.

LETTER FROM THE ARTIST

Hi! I'm Rachel, the sole artist and owner behind Sinful Hand Clothing Co.
Since I was a kid, I've always loved this planet. A cosmic anomaly, bursting at the
seams with vibrant life and an abundance of history unlike anything else in the known
universe. I have loved the plants and animals, I have loved the remnants of civilizations
long past, and I know in my heart that now more than ever, it needs protecting.
As I've grown up, I have come to realize that not everyone shares this reverence
and respect for our planet.
Fast fashion is one of the most wasteful and environmentally destructive contemporary
consumer industries - wreaking havoc with unsustainable materials, toxic chemicals and
unregulated waste disposal practices. Sinful Hand takes pride in being a decidedly slow-fashion endeavour - using small batch, locally sourced garments made from natural fibres and printing graphics by hand in a small backyard studio, utilizing greywater and sunlight to keep things running. A portion of every sale also directly returns to charities concerned with environmental conservation

When you represent Sinful Hand, you are not only supporting a local Aussie artist, but also directly giving back to the earth. On a micro scale, you've supported small, local business (and copped a wicked shirt to boot) - but on a macro scale, you've supported the fight to protect and sustain the beauty of our environment.

When you take our sinful hand, we put the power in yours.

- Rachel W, Owner and Artist of Sinful Hand Clothing Co.

HOW WE DO THINGS AROUND HERE

manufactured locally
We're all for local. From the beginning, it was imperative that Sinful Hand's designs be hand-printed on 100% Australian made garments. In doing so, we are supporting other local small businesses and stimulating the Australian economy. Since we can physically visit our manufacturers, it also means we can be sure that our garments are manufactured in fair and safe conditions.

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED
Our garments are sewn from 100% organic cotton, meaning that the fabric is produced in a sustainable manner - requiring less water and energy consumption overall. This also ensures that no harmful chemicals are used in production or released in post-production water waste, keeping our waterways clear and healthy. We are also currently researching how we can add recycled cotton to the lineup - so watch this space!

PRINTED BY HAND
Our garments are screenprinted by hand in a small backyard studio with Permaset Supercover water-based inks. This means that they are 100% solvent free, and can be washed off of our screens with just water - meaning no harmful chemicals are being sent into our precious waterways. Additionally, all water used in the print cleanup process is greywater supplied from our water tanks, to minimise freshwater wastage.

RECYCLED PAPER
All of our paper-based products are made from 100% post-consumer recycled pulp. This includes our swing tags and thank-you cards! We recommend to recycle them once more when disposing of them.
By choosing recycled pulp, we are contributing to reducing the amount of paper waste that exists in the world, and preventing the need for cutting down trees.

ECO MAILERS
Sinful Hand ships all orders in HeroPack mailers, which are made from a combination of PLA and PBAT materials. PLA, also known as Polylactic Acid, is a polyester made from renewable biomass - typically fermented plant starch, such as corn, cassava, sugarcane or sugar beet pulp - and PBAT is made from a cornstarch base. These are certified biodegradable and compostable, unlike typical petroleum-based LDPE mailers.

STICKERS
Stickers are tricky. While we try to do our best in sourcing recycled and biodegradable assets, the adhesives and backings of stickers make sourcing truly eco-friendly stickers a difficult task. Our freebie stickers included in every order are supplied from NoIssue, and are made from sustainably sourced paper pulp certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. This paper is acid-free, lignin-free and sulfur-free, meaning that ink will not transfer from the stickers, and the paper won't leave behind any of these chemicals when decomposing. They are also printed with soy-based inks (as opposed to the petroleum-base of vinyl stickers)!

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRIBUTIONS
20% of all profits generated from the sales of our garments are donated to charities supporting the conservation of Australian ecosystems and wildlife. Check out our Charity Partnerships page to learn more!
